So who is Flockers?

Well, it’s probably best if we start with who is behind Flockers – and that is renowned artist Cookie.

Cookie first started out airbrushing bespoke T-shirts on summer days along Fistral Beach. He rocked up with his airbrushing kit, charging next to nothing for on-demand designs for people passing by.

One day he returned to his favourite spot, to find a crowd of people waiting there. Feeling a little disgruntled that he’d had his ideal set-up pinched, he wandered over to find somewhere nearby to start airbrushing… only to discover these people were waiting for him!

A queue had formed, and a love for Cookie’s heartfelt effort into every creation was being recognised.

It was here at Fistral Beach in 1995 when Cookie was approached to create some designs for Weird Fish. Yes, that nostalgia stems from those familiar Bob the Fish designs, and it’s Cookie who brought them to life.

He went on to conjure best-selling designs that you’ll still find in bidding wars, as fans lovingly long for vintage Cookie Classics! He also played a huge role in Old Guys Rule, and Moose.

During this time some 30 years ago, Cookie had been building a collection of bad-behaving sheep cartoons.

Based on classic British humour and Cookie’s wit, these characters were originally intended to become postcards – and he was yet to think of a name for these outrageously wayward grass guzzlers.

30 years later, this awry fleet re-emerged from the shoebox they were stored in, and brought back to life, with an appropriate name to match – the Baaad Flockers.

All designed and produced in a studio in the Worcestershire countryside (surrounded by sheep, of course…), Flockers are now producing an entire catalogue of hilarous tees that now expand across an ever-growing clothing range from head to toe, plus a giftware collection that ensures there’s something for even the most impossible to buy for!

Flockers is all about humour AND quality.

And of course, Cookie’s mind has since created more characters, such as the hugely popular Kimmer the Wild Swimmer, Heffie the Mooody Cow, and Barking Mad.

Where Cookie once was restrained in what he could design, he now has free reign to go to wherever his creative mind takes him, and share it with the world.

We’re excited for the future of Flockers, and so incredibly proud of the history behind it all. Flockers Gallery is all about bringing that joy into one hub.
